Simple Motor Start Stop Circuit
The most simple solution to this problem is the simple time proven run stop relay circuit.
Simple motor start stop circuit. A very useful ladder logic programming pattern is the start stop circuit. See image below for an example of 3 wire control being used to pull in a contactor to start a 3 phase motor. A wiring diagram is a streamlined conventional photographic representation of an electric circuit. Like for example the beam would be extended from a switch and it must stop after a while automatically.
It reveals the components of the circuit as streamlined shapes as well as the power as well as signal links in between the gadgets. The reverse and stop is automatic. When you press the start button and the stop button is not pressed the 24vdc relay energizes and it pulls in the r1 contactor that feeds three phase power to the motor. While simple there are numerous variations and enhancements as you will see and the benefits are clearly obvious.
The trigger condition takes priority over the break condition the start stop circuit is stop dominant. So motor will run if start button is pushed stop button is not pressed overload relay is not picked and limit switch is closed. The most common use of 3 wire control is a start stop control. For a live circuit there will be some additions to the above circuit like safety related as per application some interlocks etc.
I describe each of the components involved. This post for educational or reference purpose only. This pattern is an extension to the sealed in coil pattern and is similar to the state coil however where the state coil is trigger dominant i e. The reverse function would start to operate when it rains cause it should be connected to the water sensor circuit and the motor should stop after it reverses.
Collection of start stop wiring diagram. One of the jog circuit designs is the two circuit pushbutton. With this control circuit motion cannot commence or restart without the operator s specific pushbutton command.
